1st Stop...MUFFLER ADVISORY & SOUND CLIPS
$0.00Muffler Advisory...WE MAKE CHOOSING THE RIGHT MUFFLER FOR YOUR APPLICATION EASY WITH PRACTICAL, RESEARCH-BASED RECOMENDATIONS.ZERO-HORSEPOWER LOSS! Our muffler offering is based on the goal of zero or minimal horsepower loss (compared to open headers/pipes). We achieve this with our Xcrossover systems and our high flow mufflers. You'll notice that we don't offer reverse-flow or "chambered" type mufflers. Chambered mufflers are poor flowing, excessively noisy, cause resonance in the car and COST YOU POWER! Of course, if you want original/replacement mufflers for resto or least exhaust noise we have those too. Very common sizes...Our standard case lengths "Short" (12-13" case) and "Long" (16-18")
Exhaust Sound Levels: Numerous factors drive noise levels- pipe size, muffler baffle style, engine compression, termination point of exhaust system. Our SPINTECH and GOERLICH muffler options with mild-to-wild sound levels while providing more fit options & special configuration mufflers than all other suppliers. We rate sound levels on a 10 scale with 5 being a "stock" type muffler of the 60s muscle and 10 being a loud/very-aggressive level. Our mufflers don't have any raspiness or echo-ing nuisance typical with chambered mufflers.
Muffler Flow Rates: We've selected Goerlich XLerator mufflers & SPINTECH mufflers because of their outstanding flow rates with surprisingly moderate, yet aggressive tone. The typical chambered muffler ie. Flowmaster or common turbo muffler will have flow rates 25 to 60% less than our mufflers (comparing flow data of similar case length and inlet/outlet sizes ).
Typical applications (muffler options in our systems): 12" Spintech or 14" Goerlich--The smaller case length fit all applications. Very popular for GM-F body, GM-A body, GM-B body and Mopar B&E body, Ford Mustang and Torino.
16" Spintech and 18" Goerlich--Quieter sound levels than shorter case but still aggressive, bass oriented note. Usually best choice for all convertible applications. For lowered /low ground clearance our 3" and 2" case height mufflers are recommended. All GM-A and B body, Mopar B body, Ford mid and full size. GM F body-16" case length (max fit length)
